About the Author

Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin).

"Elizabeth" lives with her husband, daughter, and nutjob of a dog. “Hayley” lives with her husband, son, and her own crazy dog. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

A Note on Why We're Awesome

As much as we'd like to claim that we were born awesome, we weren't. Not even close actually.

Believe it or not, we weren't extraordinary writers as children. We both got poems published in books, but the books were the writing equivalent of T-ball trophies: everyone who participates gets recognized. Elizabeth did get third place in a contest where she had to write about her hero. But she lost to a nerd who said his hero was Jack London.  I mean, seriously? What thirteen year old has Jack London as a hero?  He totally made that crap up. Elizabeth wrote about her grandfather. Way more sincere!

Hayley's awesomeness bloomed first, mostly because she was a rebel in high school, while Elizabeth was a shy wallflower.  Though we won't get into any specifics about Hayley, since there are still some charges pending (just kidding . . . maybe).

But our true awesomeness didn't develop until years later. Not until we met each other, became good friends, and decided that we could write a novel.  And we totally did. A pretty good one, in our oh-so-humble opinion.

We know what you're thinking: but millions of people have written novels. Are they all awesome?

The answer is simple: hell no. Writing the novel isn't what made us awesome. It was our dedication to each other, our willingness to accept harsh critique from one another, and our never wanting to kill each other (except when one of us stopped writing a sex scene in the middle of it). Ultimately, it's our unwavering friendship that makes us awesome.

And the greatest part?  We're just getting started.
